SKILLS
Before you begin making soup, you should probably have a firm grasp on basic soup-related cooking skills.

TOOLS
You should also have a few tools and equipment on hand.
These include:
•A cutting board or mat
•A pot or Dutch oven with a lid
•A sharp knife, good for chopping hard vegetables (or a food chopper)
•Containers for leftover soup
•A can opener
